Your Body! How to Pin-point those fatty areas.

The majority of people I talk to want to lose the belly fat more than anything else. Then theirs the other areas of the body that needs consideration as well. So the big question that every one is asking is where do one start to make these changes in their lives? What are the best methods to accomplish these feats?

Well when we consider our genetic back ground we can find a lot out about ourselves. For one thing as we consider our relatives for instance we look at (mom or dad, uncle Joe or aunt Mary) and we do an analysis what is there body size and bone structure make up,we have to look on both sides of the family tree. Now we begin to get the point. what kind of food do we eat is it a balance meal or is it mostly fast food. And also we need to keeping in mind that we all are born with a certain amount of fat cells that are there for a reason. So its important to understand that we cannot eliminate them totally. But what we can do is shrink them, which some people like to refer to as burning the fat.

The best way to rid ourselves of the fat around the midriff, thighs really our whole body for that matter is to start lowering our overall body fat percentage. In other words we need to watch our fat intake.

In my next article I will talk about the different kinds of foods and diets that will help burn off the fat.

Book Review for The 4 Day Win

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

I have read this book several times. Over the years, I have gone back to re-implement various strategies she outlines here. Beck writes first about the willingness of the subconscious mind to participate in the "eat less move more" diet mantra. Basically, you have various levels of acceptance towards losing weight and all in all, you need to get in touch and get agreement from your Inner Self to actually diet and finally move more and eat less. It's not about finding more willpower. As a matter of fact it is about the opposite. As Back says in the first chapter of the book,

If you think this means the 4-Day Win will give you more willpower, you're wrong; it will just help you need less. Believe it or not, your willpower is one thing that can't keep you thin. Basing a weight-loss effort on willpower does the very things to your mind and body that are virtually certain to make you fatter in the long run. The more time you spend doing traditional dieting, the more trouble you'll probably have keeping weight off, which is what makes it even more vital to undo the physical and psychological damage so that you can be thin and happy. Oh, yeah, did I mention that? If you do this program consistently, you'll end up happy, and not just because you've lost weight.

It's an excellent hands-on book about balancing your mind and subconscious with the actions you desire to take. As long as that inner self says, "NO!" you cannot lose weight. She spends her time writing (in her witty and tongue-in-cheek signature style) about how our brains are programmed, studies supporting various theories about the brain and her own personal experiences as well as case studies from her clientele. So there is variety to her writing.

I recommend this book to anyone who's been trying to lose weight and just can't seem to get anywhere. It's an ideal read for anyone who needs to understand how the brain and subconscious mind function. For those of you who don't realize the importance of getting happy first, starting within to get better results on the outside, then this read is for you.

Beck doesn't give her own specific diet to follow, rather she let's you choose the one that you think fits you best. She even has a system to decide which diet programs already on the market will best suit your type of personality. So if you don't know where to turn for weight loss and you are feeling burned out about the whole dieting dilemma, then begin with this book.

I highly suggest that you read through it completely and acquire some of her strategies in the first half of the book before actually getting into diet mode (such as meditating, getting into Watcher Mode and lists of gratification). Beck has a short cut route to read and diet at the same time, but this isn't good if you feel "you have tried everything and nothing has worked". It would be better to read this with an open mind and ask how each of her strategies might actually work for you.

The book is a journey to a better you, not just a better diet so be aware that you'll need to do some soul searching while you're preparing to shed the weight. It's grounded in the science of the mind.

Physical Fitness Increases Mental and Financial Fitness - My Body By Vi Transformation

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

When I first started my Body By Vi Weight Loss journey, I looked at it as a way to finally shed the weight that I have carried for 4 or 5 years, maybe more.

What I didn't expect to happen when I joined the challenge, was to see so many areas of my life impacted in such a positive way.

My story isn't any different than thousands of others out there. I used food for comfort. During a very trying and painful part of my life, I turned to food - food made me feel better about my situation, about where I had landed in life, and food was my friend.

When I felt stress, I ate. When I was sad, I ate. When I was mad, I ate.

I laugh now, because I actually remember a time that I got VERY upset with my local dry cleaner. I was convinced that they had shrunk every item of my clothing, because my clothes weren't fitting anymore!

I look back and realize that I as I grew in size, I shrank in confidence. I slowly lost confidence in my abilities, and I no longer loved me.

It was only when I saw a picture of myself at Christmas time last year that I realized that the dry cleaner hadn't shrunk my clothes, I had eaten myself into morbid obesity. I had medicated myself with food to the point that I was killing myself.

That picture made me decide that enough was enough. I wanted my life back, and I made a commitment to get healthy, to eat better, and to shed the pounds that I had insulated myself with.

My body was a reflection of all the emotions that I had simply refused to deal with, and now, I was ready to deal with these issues, take a good long look at who I thought I was, and what I had allowed my life to become.

Weight Loss Medication - A short cut I don't recommend

From December to April of this year, I used a weight loss medication to lose weight. I have to tell you, that while the weight came off, I was completely miserable. The weight was coming off, but I was so amped up all the time that I couldn't sleep at night, and I was cranky, and moody. If I forgot to take the medication, I went right back to bad eating for the day, and I would sabotage my own success. I was able to lose 70 pounds using this method, and then I had to stop taking the supplements. I couldn't survive without sleeping, and I was walking around sleep deprived and angry all the time!

I decided to start exercising, but because I had literally starved the 70 pounds off of me, my old eating habits were back with a vengeance, so I began to gain the weight back.

The Body By Vi Weight Loss Challenge - Will It Work?

When the Body by Vi challenge was introduced to me, I was a bit skeptical to say the least. I had tried diet after diet, with little or no success.

I decided that I had nothing to lose, and I joined the Body by Vi Challenge. As the weight began to come off I was encouraged, and I really love the way the shakes taste, so it has been very easy to stay on track.

What's awesome about the Body by Vi challenge is that it helped me to make a decision about my lifestyle. I made a commitment to change the way that I eat, and how I view food. The Vi Shape shakes helped me to conquer my biggest Achilles heel, cravings for bad food choices, and I really LOVE how I feel after working out. My recovery time is much quicker, and residual soreness from my workouts is minimal, which is huge.

I could be down for the rest of the day after taking a two mile walk on the beach, and be sore for a week after a 3 -5 mile hike. Now, I hike up to 7 to 9 miles for exercise, and I operate business as usual for the rest of day, with enough energy and stamina to get ALL of my tasks done. I LOVE IT.

For me, The Body By Vi Challenge required a commitment to change...everything

I chose hiking as my exercise of choice - It gets me outdoors, and I get to experience the fresh air, beautiful flowers and the feeling of great accomplishment when I finish. I started hiking before I started the challenge, and a great surprise was to feel how much stronger I've become. The protein in the shakes is helping me to see muscles and tone that I never thought that I would see again!

What I didn't expect from the Body By Vi Challenge

What I didn't expect to happen when I joined the Body By Vi Challenge? I didn't expect that other areas of my life would be impacted in such a positive way.

I didn't expect that I would finally be able to overcome my struggle with weight. I still have some way to go to my weight loss goal, but I KNOW, not just THINK that I WILL reach my goal weight.

I didn't expect that I would begin to examine other areas of struggle in my life, and that I would develop the discipline to address bad habits, in a positive way.

I didn't expect that as my weight began to drop and my fitness level began to increase, that my internet marketing business would literally triple.

I didn't expect to my confidence level to increase, and that I would walk a little taller, hold my head a little higher, smile a lot brighter, and feel a lot happier.

I didn't expect that the positive energy that I began to feel inside would begin to project outwardly, and that it would attract wonderfully talented, wildly successful and genuine, caring people into my world.

I didn't expect to believe in myself more, and to finally come into an acceptance of loving who I am, and what I bring to the world.

I didn't expect to come to a knowledge and an acceptance of MY WORTH.

I didn't expect to have the confidence and passion to want to share these wonderful gifts that I have received to everyone that I know, and for those who have similar stories as mine, that I don't know.

Finally, I didn't expect that a simple weight loss challenge, known as the Body By Vi Challenge, would literally end up being a life transformation, helping me to discover a better, more positive, and loving me.

Isn't it an amazing thing, when you become a part of something for one reason, and end up benefiting in more ways than you could have ever imagined?

Are you ready for your transformation? Then it's time you joined me on the Challenge - The Body By Vi Challenge

Have a blessed week!

PS. I'm saving my after photos for a BIG Reveal! Stay Tuned!

Losing body fat can be a struggle at the best of times. Emotional, physical and mental problems are all too frequent when trying to burn fat, unless you have the best workout books for fat burning.

There are some shockers out there, there are ones that give you mediocre information, and then there are ones that will take you from being whatever size you are, to a perfect beach body if you put in the work.

We need decent information before we can get decent results. Imagine just being gifted an airplane and trying to figure out how to fly it yourself... You will crash and burn.

Same with anything in life, we need to get the best information from somebody who has the results we want, can motivate us to do what we want and is willing to put the hard work into us.

Here are a few points when choosing a workout book to burn fat.:

If you are buying an ebook, always email the author first and see how much of a detailed response you get, sometimes they won't even email back - you want to make sure you get support after you buy, by making sure you get support before.' Check that the author has the results you want. Ask for a picture or some other proof. Decide if the author can motivate you to put in the work, do they offer further assistance, coaching, a mentoring program or another way to guarantee that you get results?

If you are sick of wasting time looking for information, I have a brand new guide for your fat loss and muscle building success.

Download "Step By Step Fat Loss System" free here today: Fat Loss Guide. Plus I also include my email to talk with me if you have questions.

Eating During The Holidays

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

Well, I know you are probably expecting a blog that will say what most other health sites or trainers/experts will say.  You know, the ones who will tell you to avoid everything this time of year...don't go overboard, etc.  The ones that scare you into thinking that this ONE MEAL per year will make you gain 100 lbs in one day.  You might be reading this and thinking "Um, aren't you a personal trainer.  Shouldn't you be telling me NOT to indulge?  Don't all trainers feel this way?"

NO, not me.

It drives me nuts when reading or hearing the "experts" that would have you believe you can never enjoy life and have things from time to time and still maintain a fit  and healthy body (externally and internally.)   While there are things that I will never consume again (beef or pork for example), I DO allow myself to enjoy everything else from time to time.  It's all in moderation.  By moderation, I mean EVERY SO OFTEN, not whenever you get the urge.  While I won't go into any long blog about watching calorie consumption like a hawk this holiday season (all my clients know my philosophy on this:  Enjoy and eat what you want during special occasions such as birthdays and holidays and CLEAN THE DIET BACK UP after it's over.  Just try to keep your calories from hitting 5 digits) I do want to give my Top 5 List of signs that you went a little TOO far at the dinner table.

My Top 5

1.  IF you happen to wake up with your face in your plate because you blacked out from 10 lbs of food entering your body in less than 15 min, you may have went too far.

2.  IF your family felt the need to have the Guinness Book Of World Records on hand this year to document you at the dinner table, you MIGHT be getting Ready to go too far.

3.  IF you have to go out the day after Christmas and buy a 2nd scale so you have one for each foot, you may have went too far.

4.  IF you want to install a dinner table that's larger than the one the students eat on at Hogwarts, you have the capability to go too far.

5.  And number 5...IF you get a personal letter from your local gym offering to train you for free because they feel so bad for you, you WENT too far.
If you went overboard, ask me for more information on an excellent cleanse you can do the day after a huge feast.  Truly cleanses you out internally quickly and you probably already have the ingredient in your kitchen cabinet right now!

Eat This Not That Supermarket Survival Guide by David Zinczenko and Matt Goulding

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

"Eat This Not That Supermarket Survival Guide" is David Zinczenko and Matt Goulding's answer to shopping with their series of books on what they like to call "The No-Diet Weight Loss Solution." What they did for eating out with their first book, the Restaurant Survival Guide, they now do for the supermarket. It is a very handy little book to assist you as your walk the aisles filling your shopping cart.

After a short introduction regarding food and what the book can do for you, Chapter one covers basic rules for your trip to the supermarket. Rules like working the edges and learning the lingo. This chapter includes 11 secrets the food industry doesn't want you to know and the 20 worst packaged foods in America. The worst happens to be Marie Callender's Creamy Parmesan Chicken Pot Pie.

Chapter two focuses on the produce aisle and how to supercharge your meals. Good little primer on fruits and vegetables. From there, we go to the meat and fish counters in chapter three. This is a short chapter to help you make sense of meat. Chapter four then covers the refrigerator. This is the first chapter that starts to divide foods into "eat this and not that" categories. For example, on the Deli Meats page, you find Hormel Natural Choice Carved Chicken Breast on the "eat this" page, and Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh Grilled Chicken Breast Strips on the "not that" page. (Calories, fat, and sodium are all listed, and lower on the first choice) Some of the other categories in this chapter include hot dogs and sausage, cheese, and yogurt.

Chapter five is the chapter to review when it is time to stock your pantry staples. Categories include: grains, rice sides, dry noodles, bread loaves, breakfast breads and pastries, cereals, condiments, nut and seed butters, jellies, jams, preserves, pasta sauces and much more.

Sure, snacks and sweets are not top choices for anyone on a diet, but if you are going to eat them, chapter six will help you make smarter choices. Some good advice on snacks here, and then categories contrasting corn chips, potato chips, dips, pretzels, snack mixes, crackers, popcorn, cookies, and much more.

In the seventh chapter we get to the freezer section. Contrasted foods include ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet, frozen pies, frozen pizza, meat substitutes, and other foods found in the frozen aisles.

Chapter eight covers drinks. Juice, smoothies, shakes, tea, milk, beer, and a few others are covered here. I know an entire book just came out on what to drink, so this chapter is just a teaser compared to what the book contains. This is still a good primer on what you are buying to drink.

The final chapter, nine, provides you with a guide to save money while shopping. It contains a couple of tips and then ten popular dishes that you can make at home to save money and calories. The book then concludes with a food additive glossary.

I really like this series of books. They are small, so you can carry with you, colorful so easy to read and use, and packed with information. Sure, not every single food you might find is covered, but enough are listed to make you a savvy shopper. By understanding the differences between the eat this foods and the not that foods, you will then be able to read labels and make healthier choices even when not found in this guide. Reading this book also provides a lot of good information about eating healthy, and after reading it you'll be much better prepared to hit the supermarket and fill your cart with healthy selections.

Eat Stop Eat Diet Program Saves Time and Money

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

This past summer I used the Eat Stop Eat diet program that I found through a fitness forum. Many people in the forum that were getting results were using some type of fasting in their diet. My first though was that it did not sound healthy. I was under the impression that I had to be eating every 3 hours or my body would go in to starvation mode. I got this in my head from another diet program that I previously used. Sometimes it is hard to know what to believe. I desperately wanted to lose weight and it sounded like an easy program to follow. I had nothing to lose so I gave it a try.

The whole philosophy of the eat stop eat program is to do a 24 hour fast for one or two times a week. How much simpler can you get? Most other diets will require you to eat smaller meals five times a day or eat the exact foods that they tell you. Some of these other diets get so complicated that people give up before they even start them.

Foods that I ate on the Eat Stop Eat Program

The eat stop eat program does not restrict what you eat, just during your fasting. Eat as you normally would. I had many foods that I probably would not be allowed to eat on other diets. I had hot dogs, pizza, hamburgers, ice cream and other goodies as well. I was not stuffing my face with them. You are allowed them once in a while in moderation. The program does not require you to count your calories but I did count mine. I just wanted to make sure I was not eating more than I should if I wanted to maintain my weight.

During the 24 hour fasts I only drank water, tea, black coffee and any 0 calorie diet sodas. I also chewed some sugar-free gum when I felt like I wanted to eat.

Eat Stop Eat Program Benefits

I did not have to eat for two full days a week. Eating and preparing food takes up time. Usually when you eat you have to stop what you are doing to make the food and then eat it. Following that you usually get tired since your body is using more energy to break down and use what you just ate. Without eating your body just stays the same and you gain all that extra time to stay focused on your tasks. This is great if you are working on projects or studying.

My grocery bills were less because of the meals I was cutting out. If I usually ate out at restaurants frequently I would have saved even more money following the program. At the least you would probably save ten dollars a week. What other diets can say they save you money? Most of them require you to buy expensive health foods.

If you are healthy and looking for a simple diet that you can follow for the long haul then this may work for you.

My Transformation blog has my Eat Stop Eat Review which goes into more detail about how I used the program.

I am currently using Boot Camp Exercises along with the Eat Stop Eat program.
